Hillsboro: Public Meetings: Notice of Public Meeting

IH 35: FM 310 to IH 35 E/W Split

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a public meeting to discuss the proposed widening of Interstate 35 from FM 310 south of Hillsboro to the IH 35 E/W split north of Hillsboro. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 9, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of Hillsboro High School at 1600 Abbott Avenue (SH 81) in Hillsboro. TxDOT staff will be available from 6:00 p.m. until the beginning of the presentation to informally answer questions.

The proposed project will reconstruct and widen the existing highway and provide a concrete traffic barrier between the northbound and southbound sections.

The majority of the project will be constructed within the existing right-of-way. Minimal amounts of additional right-of-way may be required in certain areas. No displacements will be required for the project. Maps and other drawings showing the proposed location and design will be displayed at the meeting.

All interested citizens are invited to attend this meeting and express their views. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact Ms. Alisa Polansky, PE at (254) 754-8087 as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made. Since the public meeting will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should be made at least one week prior to the meeting. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.

Verbal and written comments regarding the proposed project are requested. Comments may be presented either at the meeting or in writing after the meeting. Comments must be received no later than 10 days following the meeting in order to be included in the public meeting record. Written statements may be submitted at any time on or before 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2000 to:
