NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

IH 35:Bell County Safety Stops

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a public meeting to discuss proposed Safety Stops in Southern Bell and Northern Williamson Counties. This project is not associated with the current proposed widening of IH 35. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the Salado Intermediate School Cafeteria at 550 Thomas Arnold Rd. in Salado. Prior to the formal presentation at 7:00 p.m., TxDOT staff will be available to answer questions from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in an informal setting. All interested citizens are invited to attend this meeting and express their views. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact Mr. John D. Moravec at (254) 867-2757 as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made. Since the public meeting will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should be made at least one week prior to the meeting. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.

Verbal and written comments regarding the proposed project are requested. Comments may be presented either at the meeting or in writing after the meeting. Comments must be received no later than 10 days following the meeting in order to be included in the public meeting record. Written statements may be submitted to Mr. John D. Moravec, Waco District Environmental Specialist, Texas Department of Transportation, 100 South Loop Drive, Waco, TX 76704-2858 at any time on or before 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2001.
