Reconstruction of a Typical Portion of Rural IH 35 ExhibitThis exhibit is available in PDF format. If you do not have a copy of the Adobe PDF Reader, you can download one for free. Due to the large size of this exhibit, you will need to "zoom in" to read the text. This can be accomplished by using the magnifying glass near the top of screen or by increasing the percentage near the bottom left. If you have any problems viewing this document, please contact the Webmaster. Reconstruction of a Typical Portion
of Rural IH 35 (1.1 MB) These displays were presented together at the initial round of public meetings. The first display details the initial two projects that would be constructed in the reconstruction of a typical portion of rural IH 35. It also gives a definition of a "Y" ramp configuration, which currently exists on the corridor. Structures A & B (yellow) would be the first construction projects to replace those structures. In the second view, the frontage road is indicated in red. This would be the second construction project in the rural reconstruction plan. The right side of the display indicates the typical section of how these projects would be reconstructed. First, the proposed bridge center bent (yellow) is offset 14 feet to one side or the other during the replacement of Structures A & B. Second, either the southbound or northbound frontage road (red) would be reconstructed within the proposed right-of-way, outside of the existing frontage road. The second display details the possible final projects that would complete IH 35 reconstruction in the rural areas. It also shows a definition of a "X" ramp configuration, as they would typically be placed as the corridor is reconstructed. In the top view, the mainlanes (orange) would be reconstructed either apart from or with the other frontage road (blue). If the frontage road were to be constructed separately, this would be a fourth and final project to finalize construction in a portion of rural IH 35. The right side of the display shows the typical sections of how these projects would be reconstructed. Three phases of mainlane construction are shown.
The section in the lower right hand corner of the display indicates a possible fourth project to reconstruct the other frontage road, if the frontage road is not built in conjunction with the mainlane project. |
